Local Bookshops

Waterstones

47, Braehead Shopping Centre, King's Inch Rd, Glasgow G51 4BP, UK – 0141 885 9333

Still strange seeing a coffee shop built into the front (and yes, I know it's been there a while now), but I love Waterstones. It's a shame they struggle to compete on price with online stores, but you just can't beat wandering the shelves, lifting actual books and deciding it this is one you're taking home with you. Great staff, great layout, tons of lovely literature to choose from.

Staff are always super helpful and friendly. Selection of books is extensive considering the small space in the shop. Had a few dealings with staff over the years when looking for books and everyone was polite and helpful. Special shout out to Alex in the Politics and History section as he always know his stuff. Lisa in kids section as well. Both seem naturally good customer service oriented.

Comicrazy

45 Old Sneddon St, Paisley PA3 2AN, UK – 0141 237 9180

Great place! We visit there every Saturday for the Pokémon club (10am-12pm), only £4 each week. Kids get to play the TCG, trade cards and get a pack of cards at the end. Always great on free comic book Day too. Coffee is decent and well priced. They have loads of board games on the shelves for the customers to play if they want.

Great selection on both style of genre time line and artists for comics. A strong selection of games... while open to suggestions

The Works

148, intu Braehead, King's Inch Rd, Glasgow G51 4BN, UK – 0141 886 7633

Plenty to keep the kids busy with craft and story wise. Range of books and games changes often. Good discounts on most things and a quite good craft / art range. Not highest quality but certainly useable, especially if just starting out or for the kids. Often find 'themed' games here like GOT or Harry Potter.

Always can get something & staff very helpful
